The World Poker Tour Season XV has already begun, with one event already completed, as WPT officials now announce the full schedule for the new season. 17 open events are set to take place with the WPT Tournament of Champions back in action. The Canadian Spring Championship kicked off Season XV at the Playground Poker Club earlier this month and new events have been added for players to enjoy as the tour continues.
President and WPT CEO, Adam Pliska, stated that Season XIV saw 12,000 entries and more than $50 million combined prize pools offered. With the ‘overwhelmingly positive response’ from the WPT Champions Club members, the WPT has decided to bring back the WPT Tournament of Champions for Season XV and launch new initiatives to continue to enhance the WPT experience.

Individuals who have voluntarily excluded themselves from Ontario Gaming sites and who have not been reinstated are not permitted to enter the casino or participate in tournaments. The Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Canada has been hosting a stop on the World Poker tour the last few years. A couple of well-known pros shipped the WPT Fallsview, in case you had not been paying attention to one of the events that gets lost in the shuffle in between the Aussie Millions and LA Poker Classic.
Last season, the WPT Championship was replaced by the WPT Tournament of Champions, which will take place again this season in April 2017 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino of Florida. A new tournament on the schedule will include the partypoker WPT Caribbean, which will take place in the Dominican Republic at the Hard Rock Punta Cana. This event will run from the 19th of November until the 26th, and feature a main event with a buy-in of $5,000.
Another new event debuting this season is the WPT Passport. This event will see online qualifiers taking place for events of the WPT. Players will be able to choose which tournament they will be using their $5,000 prize package on. Four events of Season XV are still eligible. Satellites have a buy-in of $530 and take place at partypoker with at least one package guaranteed.

The WSOP may be entering the home stretch with the Main Event about to begin on Wednesday, but players in Southern Ontario can begin gearing up for the newly announced NSOP – Niagara Series of Poker!
Fallsview Casino will host the new series in the Grand Hall from October 24th to 29th, with satellites and super satellites beginning July 1st at the Casino Niagara poker room.
The NSOP will be comparable in size to the hugely successful WPT Fallsview series, with an $1,100 3-day event, a $1,500 1-day turbo and a $3,000 3-day main event on the schedule, along with 3 $550 1-day turbos.
Single table satellites will be available daily on demand, with super satellites for both the main event and the $1,100 scheduled roughly every couple of weeks on Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the summer.
If the NSOP draws anywhere near as well as it’s annual winter cousin, it will be a must play event. WPT Fallsview is one of the hottest stops on the WPT schedule with players from not just Southern Ontario, but across Canada coming out.
This past February, the $5,000 main event drew a record 602 entrants with Toronto’s Demo Kiriopoulos taking home the $517,424 1st prize. The incredibly popular $1,100 preliminary event garnered a massive $1.4m+ prizepool, with Michael Farrow of Rockwood, ON claiming $243,765 for the win.
